Last week I had a little bit of an embarrassing situation. I went to my beloved Toronto FC game (we beat Motagua! Yay!) and as I was going into the stadium I was stopped by Security to check my bag. This happens all the time, no big deal.
But while they were rummaging through my stuff they came across this:
Now, what might you ask is that? Well, its actually a little baggie of leftover Texas Dry Rub from the steak I'd made the previous Sunday. When I'd finished up making my steak, I'd thrown the extra rub in my bag to take back to the city and experiment with. Unfortunately I'd forgotten to take said baggie out of my bag before I head to the game on Tuesday night.
So, I had to convince Security that it was just brown sugar, chili powder, ground cumin, etc and not a bag of I don't know what...red cocaine?
As I jogged over to catch up with my friends they said "Only you would be caught with a bag of spices in your purse" and shook their heads as we headed into the game.
Security may have thought it was suspicious, but I believe that you can never be too prepared in case a steak emergency comes up and someone needs some dry rub :)
