I love this time of year. The crisp smell of the air, the vibrant warm colours and especially the food. There is something about Fall food that just warms you right up, whether it's a hot breakfast before you head out the door, or a comforting dinner on your return.
Here are some of my favourite fall recipes from the archives and I'll have some great new ones for you in the coming weeks!
One of my all time favourites is this Whole Wheat Pumpkin Bread.
It also makes a fantastic French Toast.
Breakfast Quinoa or add in some mixin's for a Carrot Cake Oatmeal.
German Pancake. They're not only fun to make, but they taste delicious too. Next time I make this, I wanted to add some baked sliced apples on top with a dash of cinnamon. Yum!
Cinnamon Rolls or try my Mini Cinnamon Rolls. They are great at a brunch too!
Pumpkin Spice Raisin Muffins. I love to cut one open and smear a little pat of butter in there. Heaven :)
Healthy Carrot Muffins.
Homemade Applesauce brings back memories of my mom making it. I love to make a big batch and freeze it in portions for meals or additions to recipes.
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds, but ever since I discoverd Caramelized Pumpkin & Squash Seeds I've been hooked!
Sweet Spiced Roasted Chickpeas. They're also our favouite snack to sneak into the movie theatre (don't tell!)
Cajun Chicken Pasta is the best way to use it. It makes tons making it a great dish for a large crowd.
Butternut Squash and Carrot Soup is just the thing to hit the spot on a cold day.
Other Soups to Try:
Healthier Chicken Marsala.
Turkey Mini Meatloaves and Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf.
Crockpot Chicken Cacciatore.
Cookies & Brownies
Gingersnaps or has my littlest cousin calls them - crinkle cookies. Their best straight out of the oven - warm, soft and with a little spice.
Pumpkin Brownies are a great way to use up leftover pumpkin from another recipe.
Banana Bars with Maple Cream Cheese Icing are not only delicious, but also a handy use for those ripe bananas sitting on the counter.
Nana's Fantastic Oatmeal Cookies are one of the treats my mom used to have waiting for us when we got home from school. I still love when I come over for a visit and a fresh batch has just come out of the oven. (hint hint Mom!, haha)
Apple Crisp. Delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Sugar Babies Molasses Cookies. I still owe him a batch!
